Journal // Prairie Studio
Prairie is the creative studio of Holly Houston - self taught jeweller, ceramic artist, mother & gardener.

After stepping away from ceramics in 2018, owner Holly Houston entered a period of quiet reflection, uncertain of what would come next. In the years that followed, she devoted herself to raising her children, nurturing her garden, and centering the well-being of both herself and her community. It was during this time of uncertainty that Prairie came to Holly, a quiet nudge from the universe, guiding her toward metalwork as a new creative path.
As she honed her skills and deepened her process, the name Prairie appeared to her in a dream.
Holly describes her twenties as a decade spent with earth beneath her fingernails, and her thirties as a time to hold gold in her hands.
Holly lives in a tiny, rustic wee cottage in the countryside. Small on space and insulation, and bursting with beauty and charm.
Each Prairie treasure is made by hand in a little home studio, tucked in amongst the cottage gardens.
"When not in the studio, I spend most of my time with my family and friends at the beach or in the vege garden."
