Kirsten Dryburgh (2)

Kirsten started pottery in the 1990’s and after completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Elam, Dryburgh became inspired to use her art school friends as “a sort of skills exchange”, and she started a weekly gathering of artists in her shed at home in Grey Lynn. This become the 'Wednesday Night Pottery Group' from which she has continued to develop her pottery career. Kirsten's practice focuses on domestic ware which she creates using mid-fired clays in an electric kiln. Her work explores textures, patterns, colours and surface. She is drawn to pottery as a medium, due to it’s tactile, visual and functional purpose.
