Woodworking has always been a part of Courtney Petley's life; she grew up watching her Father and Grandfather build houses. Recently a therapeutic hobby of sanding down and restoring old wooden furniture has evolved into a practice of carving and spoon making, thanks to her love of cooking, native timber, and making with her hands. Courtney has no formal training in woodwork, but crafts exceptionally beautiful and tactile spoons and utensils that only get better with time. All of her work is made from reclaimed and recycled New Zealand native timber, which is gifted to her by family, friends, and other kind donors.
