Holly Houston
Prairie is the creative studio of Holly Houston - self taught jeweller, ceramic artist, mother & gardener. Holly lives with her partner & children in a small beach town in Te Ika-a-Māui, North Island. Each Prairie treasure is made by hand out of her home studio, tucked in amongst the cottage gardens.
We chat to Holly about her essential everyday needs treasures and things that merge effortlessly into a lifestlye of mothering, working and being.
Frances Martin
Frances Martin lives in Te Matau-a-Māui with her partner and two children. They are the owners of The Martin House, an iconic Category One historic property that was designed by renowned Māori architect, John Scott.
Michael Gilling
Ōtautahi Christchurch-based craftsman Michael Gilling is the self-taught pair of hands behind central city studio and workshop XYLO. Combining a driving passion for Japanese craftsmanship and joinery methods with native and exotic hardwoods he's built a practise for the last decade around hand-crafting functional objects, bespoke furniture, and considered architectural fit-outs full of hand-cut elements that are a joy to discover.
Jiho Yun
Photographer, mother, and founder of Common Garden, Jiho Yun lives in Tāmaki Makaurau with her three-year-old Eden and husband Sam, with whom she also runs woodworking design studio; Walk in the Park. Jiho's multi-talented and diverse creative practice always feels joyful and familiar, with an ever-eloquent sensibility in the use of colour.
