Images and words by Claire Mossong
Last year our beautiful daughter arrived into the world and our hearts exploded in every possible way, we gladly surrendered to her owning us entirely. Motherhood, fatherhood, parenthood and loving someone in general are all wonderful ways to give your life and heart up.

My everyday rituals are simple. Coffee in my favourite Hasami mug, a shower to make me feel alive again, lighting some incense and throwing open the doors on the sunny autumn mornings. White River is the most delicious.

We sit quietly under the pines together, you are warm on my chest in the summer heat, the sound of the cicadas breathing overhead. You sleep on me and nowhere else, with no one else. Your hands clutching my shirt, both gentle and fierce with what you want. Each day I surrender a little more of myself to you, and a little less to who I was, the things I did, and how it all used to be. And I do it so gladly, you wild girl of mine.
