Iron Bottle Opener
A master forger of nambu tetsu, or traditional cast iron, Nobuho Miya works from his Kamasada ironware studio, founded by one of his ancestors in the Meiji era. His work has been exhibited worldwide, as far a field as New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is said that it takes at least 15 years to become a decent ironware maker, and 40 years to become a master craftsperson. What makes Miya's work unique is not only his abilities as a craftsperson but his incredible eye for elegant, simple, contemporary design. Made in Japan.
