Phil Cuttance is a designer and maker from New Zealand who is now based in London. Phil's pieces are each handmade in his London studio. Their complex forms and sharp lines mean it is sometimes assumed they have been made using CAD software, CNC machining, or 3D printing, but on closer inspection reveal that they are all handmade, with small imperfections which are a result of the process and communicate the hand-made nature of the piece. These objects whose form, often detailed and visually complex, belies the hand-made, lo-fi processes by which they are created. Cuttance is well known for his 'Faceture' vases and has since started making 'Herringbone' objects which use the same innovative material and casting method.
